Skeet & Trap Shooting

$50/person, includes a hayride out to our range

Discover the thrill of open-air shooting at the Bar SZ Ranch

No Western adventure is complete without the sharp crack of gunfire.  The Bar SZ has a private shooting range.  You will enjoy a tractor driven hay ride from the barn into the back-country nestled in an old canyon once occupied by the bandit and outlaws of the 1880's preparing to rob the Wells Fargo stagecoach.  Whether you are an expert skeet shooter or have never handled a firearm, our experienced instructors will give you an afternoon to remember!

Bring your own firearms or use the wide variety we have at the Bar SZ range.  We will also make sure you have all the proper safety equipment and plenty of ammo for a great day of shooting.  Challenge your friends to a skeet shooting contest.  Yell “PULL!” and see your target break into a thousand pieces!  Think you have an eagle eye?  Let’s see you knock over our bowling pin targets with a .22 rifle at 50 yards.

If you are new to rifles, your guide will provide basic instruction on the operation, use of safety equipment, and fundamental skills of shooting insuring you have an exciting adventure.  You will learn the Four Rules of Gun Safety.  You will learn how to safely load, unload, and check your firearm.  You will learn target and sight alignment and trigger control skills.  Personal instruction guarantees you hit your target.

Spend an hour or an afternoon.  When you are done, our hay wagon brings you back to the barn and the main ranch where you can relax and tell stories around the campfire.
