The Log Cabin

Welcome to your own "Ponderosa."

Take a trip back in time with our true log cabin. This 2,100 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home is cozy and spacious, with views of the surrounding pastures and mountains. You'll enjoy sitting on the front porch, barbecuing in the backyard, and cozying up by the stone fireplace. You might even make a grass-fed friend!

The Ranch House boasts 4,300 square feet of living space plus a detached apartment, private pool, and pool house. With a wrap-around porch, 6 bedrooms, lush yard, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and much more, the Ranch House is the perfect, peaceful escape from city life.

How long can I stay on the ranch?

All accommodations require a minimum reservation of 2 nights (3 nights on holiday weekends). We allow a maximum stay of 5 nights for all accommodations.

Does my reservation include meals?

The Bar SZ Ranch does not provide any meals during your stay, and we do not have a restaurant or grocery store on site.

What should I bring?

Please bring your own food, as we do not have any food available on the ranch. We recommend bringing drinks and s'mores makings as well. Other items to pack are toiletries (we do provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap in each bathroom) flashlights, sunscreen, hats, bikes/helmets, games, tennis shoes or boots, jeans, multiple layers of clothes for the evenings, and anything else that may personalize your country experience. If you plan to gather with a large group in one house or barbecue outside, please bring paper plates and utensils. (All the provided utensils, plates, cups, blankets, pillows, chairs, and tables are not allowed outside our luxury guest homes and must stay inside each respective house.)

Is there a restaurant on the ranch?

We do not have a restaurant located on our property, but we hope you will enjoy grilling with your group at one of our accommodations. The nearest restaurant is in Tres Pinos, about 35 minutes from the ranch. The nearest town with amenities is Hollister, CA located about 45 minutes from the ranch. King City, CA is also about 35 minutes away.

Does the ranch provide drinking water?

Yes, we provide clean drinking water in each house. Our guest homes each have their own filtered water dispenser and can be refilled upon request by our staff.

What is provided in the houses?

Linens, towels, kitchen cookware, dishes, and utensils, fresh drinking water, liquid body soap, hand and dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, coffee grinder, coffee maker, salt/pepper, and cooking oil.

Does the ranch have free WiFi?

Yes, we provide wifi in the houses, and in our guest areas of the property.

Is there cell service on the ranch?

Not all cell phone carriers cover the ranch. However, guests are able to make wifi calls, and guests with AT&T will get great service, as there is a tower nearby.

Is there AC and heating in the homes?

Yes, both houses have central AC and heat.

Do you provide pack 'n plays?

We have four pack 'n plays available upon request.

How far away is the nearest grocery store?

The nearest standard grocery stores are in King City or Hollister, about 35-45 minutes away from the ranch. There are also Costcos in Gilroy, San Luis Obispo, and Bakersfield.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, we do not allow any guest dogs or pets on the ranch.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is permitted outside of the houses in designated areas only; you may NOT walk around the ranch while smoking. Our designated areas are specifically located far from dry grass as well as far from the barn, riding arena, horses and other animals.
